This is a new time for me. It is a starting-over, a new look, and as hopefully good and long as life is I will never be able to afford to retire and you are stuck with me for many years to come. That is - unless my husband's retirement plan actually pays off. He is still positive that he is going too win the lottery. Barring that, I am here for the duration.
I have always loved this piece by Sandra Gilmore. It is what I dreamed my daughters would look like at the beach. My oldest daughter HATED the sand. As my parents lived in Florida that was - as they say - problematical. My parents even bought expensive shells and "salted" the beach with them to give her something to look for. She would have nothing to do with it - she sat crying on a bench on the path to the beach.
My younger daughter LOVED the beach - but to get her in a dress like Becky's would have taken an Act of God. We had to take her out of her Christening dress before the ceremony and put her in a little jumpsuit. The screaming was unbearable. Maybe a granddaughter?????
Anyway, enjoy the summer. I hope all of us can get a break this summer and feel the sand between our toes. While there - relax for a little stitching time.
